Salah satu aplikasi yang saya instal di iphone saya adalah aplikasi heyday. Alasan saya pakai aplikasi ini adalah karena kegunaannya menyimpan foto-foto yang pernah saya ambil dan juga bisa membuat tulisan di sana. Terus nanti, kita bisa buka-buka kenangan di tanggal tertentu. Seperti yang ini, dari berkebun dapat apa aja, sebuah kenangan setahun lalu saat lagi di kebun sama mama saya.
Mama Dan Berkebun
Seperti yang pernah saya tuliskan dalam bahasa Inggris yang penuh salah itu, Mom’s Garden, mama saya itu suka banget berkebun. Dia bisa menghabiskan banyak waktunya dengan bongkar pasang tanaman dari satu pot ke pot lain. Dari satu pot ke halaman dan sebaliknya.
Bahkan pas ultah mama juga dia pernah minta dibelikan tanaman dan pupuk dan peralatan lainnya. Terus mainannya di tablet juga hayday. Hahahaha. Gak jauh-jauh dari berkebun juga kan yak kalau hayday, cuma berkebun plus plus aja kan?
Nah setahun lalu, 31 Januari 2015, saya menemani mama saya berkebun. Dalam obrolan itu, saya pun sempat bertanya: dari berkebun dapat apa aja sih sampai begitu suka sama berkebun. Gak dijawab langsung sih sama mama saya. Tapi dari beberapa ucapannya ada beberapa hal yang bisa saya simpulkan.
Dari Berkebun Dapat Apa Aja
Ini beberapa kesimpulan yang saya dapatkan perihal dari berkebun dapat apa aja yang diucapkan oleh mama saya:
#1. Semua Bermanfaat
Walaupun daun yang telah gugur, sekalipun tetap bermanfaat. Sering saya melihat daun yang sudah gugur di sekitar tanaman mama saya. Beberapa kali sih saya tanya, kenapa gak dibersihkan, seperti yang lainnya (baca: tetangga). Mama saya bilang, biarkan aja. Daun itu masih bermanfaat kok. Dia akan membusuk dengan sendirinya (walau mungkin lama) dan menjadi pupuk untuk tanaman yang lainnya.
Kalau dalam hidup, mungkin mirip juga ya. Seringkali kita merasa kalau kita ini gak ada apa-apanya. Gak berguna. Tapi ternyata, daun yang gugur itu aja masih ada manfaatnya. Jadi pasti kita pun, siapapun kita, memiliki sesuatu untuk hidup ini, untuk alam ini. Hanya saja kita belum menemukannya mungkin, well, waktu kan menjawab kan.
#2. Tempat Itu Menentukan
Dalam menanam, media tanam alias tempat yang digunakan itu sangat menentukan hasilnya nanti. Misalnya saja dalam menanam “bonsai”, jika potnya terlalu kecil, akarnya pun akan kecil. Tidak akan terlalu besar seperti yang diinginkan.
Atau kalau kita menanam sebuah pohon baru di sebelah pohon yang cukup besar, ternyata akan jadi masalah juga. Kenapa? Karena posisinya mungkin akan terhalangi oleh pohon besar itu untuk mendapatkan sinar matahari yang cukup. Dan akhirnya mati.
Eh tapi, pas saya lihat pohon cabe di sebelah pohon jambu di perkarangan rumah, ternyata pohon cabe di rumah saya itu paling tinggi di antara semua pohon cabe lainnya. Pas saya perhatikan lagi, ternyata si pohon cabe ini menyesuaikan diri untuk mendapatkan sinar matahari yang dia butuhkan. Makanya tingginya bisa setinggi saya. Dan masih berbuah sampai saat ini.
Mirip dengan kerja ya, ini sih yang kepikir oleh saya. Tempat kita dalam bekerja itu sangat menentukan. Jika kita terlalu tertutup oleh “pohon” yang terlalu besar, kita mungkin tidak akan berkembang sama sekali. Tapi, tetap kok kita bisa berkembang di balik “pohon” itu jika kita mengambil langkah yang tepat. Misalnya dengan mengembangkan keahlian kita.
#3. Memberi Gak Merugikan
Dalam berkebun, beberapa kali mama saya melakukan cangkok. Dan ternyata gak merugikan sama sekali. Cangkok memang pernah saya baca di pelajaran biologi pas SD atau SMP gitu. Hehehe. Tapi belum pernah saya lakukan, sampai melihat mama saya melakukannya. 😀
Dan ternyata mencangkok itu sama sekali gak merugikan. Bahkan menguntungkan si pohon sendiri. Dengan cangkokan itu, ternyata pohon yang dicangkok malah lebih subur. Dan ujung-ujungnya mempunyai banyak cabang. Mungkin kalau dalam hidup manusia, mirip dengan berbagi ya. Dengan berbagi itu gak akan pernah merugikan yang membagi – seperti kata Mas Ef itulah.
#4. Semua Ada Waktunya
Dalam hal dedaunan yang sudah berumur, mama saya akan memotongnya dan memisahkannya dari yang muda. Karena menurut dia, jangan sampai yang tua menahan yang muda untuk berkembang. Yang tua cenderung membutuhkan mineral dan vitamin yang jauh lebih banyak.
Kalau misalnya tidak dipisahkan, bisa saja justru akan menarik mineral dan vitamin yang dibutuhkan oleh yang lebih muda. Dan akhirnya bisa membuat si muda itu mati karena kekurangan mineral. Dan saya kok jadi kepikir tentang adat kebiasaan suatu suku di Indonesia yang “memaksa” yang muda untuk berpetualang, pisah dari orang tuanya.
Ada baiknya juga ya adat seperti itu. Membuat si anak jadi lebih dewasa dan bertanggung jawab atas hidupnya.
#5. Berbagi Bukan Soal Uang Saja
Ini yang saya selalu pikirkan kalau ingin berbuat kebaikan. Setidaknya dulu. Tapi dari berkebun, saya belajar, well dari mama saya juga sih. Dia berbagi gak hanya soal uang. Dengan berkebun, dia bisa berbagi hasil kebunnya dengan yang lain.
Misalnya aja beberapa kali mama saya itu membiarkan tukang sayur untuk mengambil daun lengkuas dari kebun tanpa charge apapun. Bahkan pernah ada tetangga zona sebelah yang datang meminta satu tanaman, dan dikasih gitu aja. Eh gak lama, orang itu datang lagi dan membawa tanaman lain untuk mama. Berbagi memang gak harus soal uang ya.
Dari Berkebun Dapat Apa Aja?
Dapat banyak pelajaran hidup. Beneran deh. Dari berkebun dapat apa aja itu bisa dijawab dengan pelajaran hidup yang membuat saya tertampar bolak balik ke bulan (lebaynya ke luar). Tapi memang ya, dari alam itu, kita bisa memetik banyak pelajaran hidup.
Sebelumnya saya pernah gak sengaja mengamati deretan semut yang berbaris di pagar besi (bukan dinding) dan akhirnya menulis soal semut ini. Dan sekarang… dari berkebun dapat apa aja juga ternyata mendapatkan banyak pelajaran hidup. Termasuk pelajaran penting dari mama saya sih. Makasih ya ma… Kalau kalian, suka berkebun gak? Kenapa?

Banyak ya Yan filosofi yang didapatkan dari berkebun. Berkebun juga bisa jadi terapi kalo stress juga sih ya. Karena lihat warna daun segar menurut penelitian kan bisa meredakan stress.

Heyday aku pikir games yang beternak itu.
Kendala berkebun di sini adalah gpunya tanah. Bahagia bangetbpas aku ultah ada yg ngado benih bunga.

Aku dan suami jg suka berkebun, tapi akhir-akhir ini agak sedikit putus asa karena tanamannya pada kering trus mati. Beberapa tanaman dibuang akhirnya, hiks. Semoga setelah baca ini jd semangat lagi.

Wahhh. Samaaa. Pernah ditel juga blg kalau bunga sudah kembang. ? ibu memang kayak gitu ya.
Saya kurang begitu suka berkebun karena saya orangnya tidak begitu tekun. Tapi saya suka melihat orang berkebun. Hehe. Berkebun di tanah yang luas dan lapang jadi contoh banget kita sedang berlantai tanah dan beratap langit–benar-benar jadi warga dunia. Ah, jadi ingin pulang kampung terus ikut lagi ke sekolah tempat Bapak mengajar :hehe.
